C.A. Conrad & Dorothea Lasky en español: *El libro de Frank* y *Pájaro del trueno*

Join Triana Editorial and the poets as we celebrate the release of the Spanish editions of C.A. Conrad’s *The Book of Frank* and Dorothea Lasky’s *Thunderbird.* Each poet will read from their original text while the translator of *The Book of Frank*, Jacob Steinberg, and Triana’s editorial director Alejandro Jorge will read from the corresponding Spanish versions. Copies of both books will be available, as well.

Los poetas leerán de los textos originales, y el traductor de *El libro de Frank*, Jacob Steinberg, y el editor jefe de Triana, Alejandro Jorge, leerán de los textos traducidos. También va a haber copias de los dos libros a la venta.

DOROTHEA LASKY is the author of four books of poetry, most recently *ROME* (W.W. Norton/Liveright, 2014), as well as *Thunderbird*, *Black Life*, *AWE*, all out from Wave Books. She is the co-editor of *Open the Door: How to Excite Young People About Poetry* (McSweeney’s, 2013) and several chapbooks, including *Poetry is Not a Project* (Ugly Duckling Presse, 2010). Currently, she is an Assistant Professor of Poetry at Columbia University’s School of the Arts, co-directs Columbia Artist/Teachers, and lives in New York City.

C.A. CONRAD’s childhood included selling cut flowers along the highway for his mother and helping her shoplift. The author of 9 books of poetry and essays, the latest is titled While Standing In Line For Death and is forthcoming from Wave Books (September 2017). He is a Pew Fellow and has also received fellowships from Lannan Foundation, MacDowell Colony, Headlands Center for the Arts, Banff, RADAR, Flying Object and Ucross. Enjoy an evening of fantastic tales and poems about love, the macabre, and everything in between, as told by your favorite NYC Latinx writers and poets:

María Fernanda Snellings is a poet from Washington, D.C. She is a VONA/Voices fellow whose poems and translations have appeared in Luna Luna Magazine, The Wide Shore, Kweli Journal & elsewhere.

Dez Cruz is a 22-year-old queer Dominican poet who’s looking for adventure in her life. Cruz has been writing poetry since elementary school and has only recently started taking it seriously. She would like to one day use poetry in her art therapy practice.

Carmen Bardeguez-Brown is a poet who has been invited to read at The Nuyorican Poets Café, The Fez, and more. You can purchase her poetry book, Straight from the Drums: Al Ritmo del Tambor at Amazon or Barnes & Noble.
