Well known in upper Manhattan for 20-plus years of hosting weekly jazz concerts in her Edgecombe Ave living room, Marjorie Eliot has increasingly incorporated her eloquent and thought-provoking plays into her musical performances. After a remarkable 4-week series at Word Up in April 2015, Eliot joins us for a reprisal of one of her longer works, In the Quiet Night-Time of my Sleep-less Dreams, which pertains, according to the playwright, to “African life on this American soil.” Featuring actors Arthur French, Eric Coleman, Cooki Winborn, and Cedric Shoukroun, and musicians Marjorie Eliot, Sedric Choukroun, and Will Glass.
