In the heart of the American-Jewish community, there is more diversity of opinion than one might imagine. This film interviews a wide spectrum of American Jews, including artists and intellectuals, asking them what they were told about Israel as they were growing up, why that world view was as compelling as it was, and how they came to change their minds. SOME OF MY BEST FRIENDS ARE ZIONISTS is about how people change their minds. (2013, US, 46 min). The screening will be followed by a Q & A with the director, Bruce Robbins.

Bruce Robbins is the Old Dominion Foundation Professor in the Humanities at Columbia University. His most recent book is “Perpetual War: Cosmopolitanism from the Viewpoint of Violence” (2012).
