Led Black (Uptown Collective) leads a reading and conversation about AJ Sidransky’s new novel, Forgiving Mariela Camacho. This second book in Sidransky’s “Forgiving” series starts five years after the conclusion of his award-winning debut novel Forgiving Máximo Rothman. New York City police detectives Kurchenko and Gonzalvez of the 34th Precinct in Washington Heights tackle a new murder case—but this time it’s personal. The victim was Gonzalvez’s former lover, Mariela Camacho. Sidransky and Black will discuss the book’s themes, especially its most timely: immigration and its effect on the individual’s search for identity and stability.
