June 27 – Hands Up for Assata

June 27 - Assata

In the past year, we have heard Assata’s words chanted at demonstrations throughout the country signifying that she is still with us and still inspiring movement. Since the US and Cuba opened up conversations around improving relations, many have started to ask ” what does this mean for Sis. Assata and the bounty that still is in effect to bring her back?”. In this event, we will spend time listening to her words about Cuba where she has been in asylum since 1984, what is happening currently given her place on the FBI’s Most Wanted List and how can we support our sister and family in Cuba. Information about the upcoming Pastors for Peace Caravan to challenge the US blockade of Cuba will be provided as well.
