One of the best parts of having moved to 2113 Amsterdam Avenue is that we have a great next-door neighbor in the form of Reynaldo García Pantaléon. “I came with the place,” he says to anyone he meets at the store, whether he is up high on a ladder painting the duct, sorting through books, or vigorously participating in conversation about community issues.
When Reynaldo left town for some weeks this summer, he was returning to a place he had not been to in seventeen years. Once there, he experienced the changes that had taken place in his home nation, his family, his memory, and more. And, he made art—3 murals, to be exact. Tonight at the store, Reynaldo will give a presentation on his trip, including a slideshow of his work. Please stop in! The event starts tonight—Thursday, October 30—at 7pm.
