The Uptown Arts Stroll continues this week with a pair of events organized by Northern Manhattan Arts Alliance, the service organization that supports artists and arts organizations in Washington Heights and Inwood. Word Up was founded in partnership with NoMAA, as they connected the dots to have a space in the first place, back in June 2011 when we were on Broadway at 176th Street.
On Wednesday, the New York Foundation for the Arts presents a workshop that will cover strategies for sustaining your artistic practice, including free and low-cost services and programs offered by NYFA, as well as other resources for finding awards, residencies, services, and opportunities available to individual artists in New York and nationwide. The workshop will be led by Toccarra A. Holmes Thomas, a program associate for NYFA SOURCE. Free! Space limited. RSVP strongly encouraged: firstname.lastname@example.org.
